The invitation (or not)

I wish you'd come and visit, and stay a week or so.
Although halfway through the visit I might start wishing that you'd go.
So, on second thought, why not stay a day or two.
Although, that may be too long too. Would that be too long for you?
You know I’m always glad to see you, and you always make me smile.
But, we tend to drive each other nuts, in such a darn short while.
I tell you what! Come for dinner, would Sunday be okay?
Or...maybe just tea and cookies (then you can go away).
Or, You can stop at my door, we’ll have a quick chat eye to eye
Or...then again, better yet, just wave as you drive by.

Just My Luck

A fly flew up my nose.
Seriously? I asked the heavens.
Is this my kind of luck?
"Shut up." Came the answer
"You're lucky it wasn't a duck."

Family Road Trip!

We packed our bags, we were going far.
With snacks and games we stuffed the car.
My brother and I climbed in the back.
We reached in the cooler and pulled out our snacks.
We took off our shoes, grab our books and we read.
“This is actually fun”, my brother said.
We got tired and laid on the pillows we brought,
We rolled down the windows when it got too hot
We tried our best to get along.
We played some games, we sang some songs.
Boredom eventually began to grow.
Especially, when our parents got in, and we started to go.
